One Bundle at a Time — Why You Cannot Replace a Running Bundle

Your IQ Go SIM runs on one 30-day data bundle at a time. A bundle stays active until its natural expiry date, and while it is running you cannot start or replace it with another 30-day bundle. This follows the network's rules for how monthly bundles are managed, and it keeps billing predictable.

In practice that means two things.

If you run out of data early

Use a data add-on to bridge the gap to your renewal date. Add-ons come in 1GB, 3GB and 10GB, they stack, and the full amount is usable while roaming. They expire when your current bundle does, so buy a size that matches the time you have left rather than the biggest one available.

If you want a bigger bundle next month

Schedule it. When you buy a bundle you can set the date it starts, so you can line the new one up to begin the day the current one ends. You will find your scheduled bundle under Data Usage in the app and at my.helloiq.uk.

Two things worth knowing about scheduling:

  • If you schedule a bundle to start the same day your current one expires, it activates once the old one has actually run out — which may be later that day rather than first thing in the morning.
  • A scheduled bundle sits on the SIM waiting. It cannot be brought forward, so if your plans change it is usually easier to bridge with add-ons.

Planning a long trip

If you are going away for longer than a month, work out the total data you expect to need before you go. A larger bundle bought once is almost always better value than a run of add-ons, and it avoids the situation where you are abroad, out of data, and waiting on a renewal date.
