Pricing, Roaming & International

You can use 25% of your data allowance in Zone 1, which covers Europe and the Channel Islands. So a 10GB allowance gives you 2.5GB abroad and a 100GB allowance gives you 25GB. That share is part of your allowance rather than an extra on top, so once it is used the UK data you have left will not connect abroad. It works the same way on SIM-only monthly plans and on IQ Go data bundles. If you need more while away, data add-ons have no fair-use cap and can be used in full in Zone 1.

Activate one in the IQ Mobile app or online portal whenever you need it — there is nothing to arrange in advance. Passes are for SIM-only customers travelling beyond Zone 1; Europe is already covered by Roam Like At Home, which lets you use 25% of your data allowance there.

Passes run to the minute, not to midnight. If you activate a daily pass at 3pm, it runs until 3pm the following day; an 8-day pass activated at 3pm runs until 3pm eight days later.

International charges apply when you make calls or send texts from the UK to someone in another country. Roaming charges apply when you use your phone (calls, texts, or data) while you are physically outside the UK.

It's always advisable to call our customer services team before travelling to ensure there are no bars on your account that could prevent use abroad.

Typically on your next invoice, however it can take up to 3 months to be billed for international or roaming charges depending on when the network reports them to us.

Your handset will usually select a network automatically. If not, try manually selecting a network in your device settings. If that doesn't help, contact our customer services team.
