Getting Started

Porting Your Number to IQ Mobile

Porting your number to IQ Mobile is free and usually completes within one working day. Here's exactly how to do it.

Step 1 — Request your PAC code

Text PAC (capital letters) to 65075 from the mobile number you want to keep. You will receive an automated reply within seconds containing your Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) and its expiry date (PAC codes are valid for 30 days).

You can also request your PAC code by calling your current network's customer services. Your provider is legally required to give it to you immediately — they cannot make you wait or try to keep you.

Step 2 — Activate your IQ Mobile SIM

Visit my.helloiq.uk and activate your SIM. During the activation flow you will be asked if you want to keep your existing number. Select yes and enter your PAC code when prompted.

Step 3 — Wait for the transfer

Your number will transfer on the next working day. You will receive a text confirming the switch. During the brief switchover window (usually a few minutes) both SIMs may be temporarily unavailable — this is normal.

Frequently asked questions

  • Will I lose my number if I cancel my old contract early? No. Porting your number is separate from cancelling your old contract.
  • Can I port a landline number? No — PAC codes only apply to mobile numbers.
  • What if my PAC code expires? Simply text PAC to 65075 again to get a new one.
  • Can I port a business number? Yes. The process is identical for business mobile numbers.
