Common questions

Which countries does IQ Go cover?

IQ Go runs on the best UK 5G network and covers countries across Europe, including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Greece, the Netherlands, and many more. It is designed for European travel only — it will not work in the USA, Asia, or other destinations outside Europe.

Can I use IQ Go in a router or MiFi device?

Yes. IQ Go is a standard physical SIM card that works in any unlocked SIM-capable device — smartphones, tablets, mobile routers, MiFi hotspots, and laptops with a SIM slot. This makes it one of the few travel SIMs suitable for sharing data across multiple devices on a trip.

How does the pricing work after the first year?

IQ Go costs £20 upfront, which includes the physical SIM and your first year of connectivity. After 12 months, a simple £20 annual renewal keeps your SIM active. Monthly data and call bundles are managed through your IQ Mobile account.

Can I buy another monthly data bundle before my current one runs out?

Each IQ Go plan runs on one active monthly (30-day) data bundle at a time, and it stays active until its natural expiry date. While a bundle is running you cannot start or replace it with a new 30-day bundle — instead, if you run low early, you can top up with emergency data add-ons. This keeps your billing predictable and follows our network's rules for how monthly bundles are managed.

What are emergency data add-ons, and how do they work?

Add-ons are there to bridge the gap if you run out of data before your monthly bundle renews. You can buy them multiple times and stack them together; they expire when your current monthly bundle expires; and they do not include the EU roaming fair-use allowance that comes with a standard monthly bundle. The cost per GB is higher than a monthly bundle, because they are a short-term top-up to see you through to your next renewal rather than a replacement for your allowance.

How can I make my data last longer while travelling?

A few habits help a lot: set video streaming to Standard Definition rather than HD or 4K; turn off automatic app updates and background app refresh while on mobile data; and download films, shows and maps over Wi-Fi before you travel. If you regularly use very large amounts of data, some heavy users travel with two SIMs, which gives two separate monthly allowances and two EU roaming fair-use limits. We are always happy to help you choose the best option for how you use your data.

What happens if I need data outside Europe?

IQ Go covers Europe only. If you need connectivity in the USA, Asia, Australia, or anywhere beyond Europe, we recommend iqtravel.net — our eSIM service covering 100+ countries worldwide.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?

Yes. Your device must be network-unlocked to use IQ Go. Most UK networks unlock phones for free on request — contact your provider and allow a few days. Phones purchased outright (e.g. from a manufacturer or retailer) are usually unlocked already.

How quickly will my SIM arrive?

Standard delivery is free and takes 3–5 working days. Express delivery options are available at checkout if you need it sooner.
