A real local landline number.
On the phone in your pocket.

A real UK landline number, without the landline.

The UK's old landline network is gradually being switched off, and a lot of people are being pushed onto confusing new boxes and jargon. IQ Home is the simple version: a genuine new UK geographic number — 01225, 0117, whichever area suits — living on a SIM in your mobile. No wall socket, no engineer, no standing by a phone to answer it.

Already have a landline number you'd rather keep than start fresh? We're building that too — register your interest and we'll be in touch.

A real local number

A genuine UK landline number — 01225, 0117, whichever area suits — not a mobile 07 number.

Works anywhere

At the shops, at the doctors, or away in Spain — calls to your new number find you.

Voicemail included

The usual voicemail options, so a missed call is never a lost one.

Text messages too

A mobile number is included alongside your new landline number, so you can send and receive texts as well as calls.

Two simple tiers

One price for a real UK landline number on your mobile. One more if you'd like the extra peace of mind for family.

How getting your number works

No jargon, no engineer visits, nothing complicated on your end.

01

Choose your number

Buy IQ Home and tell us the area you’d like — Bath, London, wherever suits — we’ll confirm your exact new number with you.

02

We set it up

Your new number is provisioned and linked to your SIM. No engineer visit, nothing complicated on your end.

03

It starts working on your mobile

Calls to your new number ring on your mobile — wherever you are.

IQ Home+ — peace of mind for the whole family

Built with one situation in mind: an elderly parent living independently, and a family member who wants to know they're safe from scam calls without hovering over every conversation.

Call transcripts

Rolling out

A written record of what was said on a call — easy to glance back over, no replaying anything.

Scam-call flagging

Rolling out

Calls that look like a scam are flagged, so family can spot a problem early rather than after the fact.

To-do reminders from calls

Rolling out

If a call ends with something to do — a date, a callback, a form to send — it’s picked out as a simple reminder.

Family peace of mind

Rolling out

A grown-up child can check in on what was said on a call to an elderly parent, without having to ask them to remember it.

A real example: if a parent living with dementia gets a call from someone claiming to be their bank, a grown-up child can look back at what was actually said and step in early — rather than finding out something was wrong after money has already gone.

Why people trust us with something this personal

Real humans, real office, Bath

Every call is answered by an actual UK-based person — not an overseas call centre, not a chatbot.

We de-mystify the jargon

No "porting," no "FMC," no technical run-around — we explain what’s happening in plain English, every step.

Honest pricing, no surprises

Two prices, two tiers. What we quote is what you pay, and there’s no contract tying you in.

A proper local number, modern technology

A genuine landline-style number, not a mobile one — but working on the phone that’s always in your pocket.

Want to keep your existing number instead?

IQ Home today gives you a brand new number. If you'd rather move your existing landline number across instead — a bigger job involving your current provider — tell us about it below and we'll be in touch as soon as that's ready. No commitment, no pressure.

Which are you interested in?

No commitment — a real person calls or emails you back, that's it.

Common questions

Can I keep my existing landline number instead of getting a new one?

Not yet through instant checkout — moving an existing number across is a more involved process (confirming it can move, an authority signed by you, coordinating with your current provider) that we’re building as its own service. Register your interest below with your current number and provider and we’ll be in touch when it’s ready. Today, IQ Home gives you a brand new local UK number instead.

Do I need to buy a new phone?

No — IQ Home works on a mobile phone you already have, or one of our senior-friendly handsets if you’d like a simple, easy-to-use phone alongside it. Either way, nothing complicated to set up.

Do I need to cancel my existing landline?

That’s up to you — IQ Home gives you a brand new number, it doesn’t touch your existing line or provider. Cancel your old landline in your own time, once you’re happy with your new one.

Will it still work if I’m abroad?

Yes — calls to your new number find you wherever you have mobile signal, including on holiday. No separate roaming SIM needed for this.

I have a personal alarm, telecare pendant, or home security system that dials out over my landline — is that a problem?

IQ Home itself doesn’t touch your existing line, so it’s not a problem on its own. But if you’re also planning to cancel your old landline once you’re set up, check with your alarm or telecare provider first — these often rely on a traditional analogue phone line and don’t always work once it’s gone.

What’s the actual difference between IQ Home and IQ Home+?

IQ Home (£10/month) gives you a real UK landline number on your mobile, with voicemail and texting included. IQ Home+ (£15/month) adds call transcripts, scam-call flagging, and simple to-do reminders picked out from your calls — particularly useful for families keeping an eye on an elderly relative’s calls. The Home+ extras are new and rolling out gradually; register your interest and we’ll be in touch as they become available.

Is there a contract?

No — both tiers are a straightforward monthly price with no minimum term, in keeping with how we do everything else at IQ Mobile.

How is this different to what my mobile already does?

A normal mobile phone has its own 07 number. IQ Home adds a proper local landline-style number on top — a second number that also rings the same phone — so you can hand out a landline number without needing an actual landline.

Prefer to just talk it through?

Our UK-based team in Bath is happy to explain how it all works, no form required.
