The emergency button
Phones like the Emporia range feature a dedicated SOS button on the back of the handset. When pressed, it automatically calls a pre-set emergency contact and — on GPS-enabled models — sends your child’s location.
This is particularly reassuring for younger children walking to school, children with additional needs, or any situation where being able to call for help quickly matters most.

Are adult websites really blocked?▾
Yes. Our parental control filtering is applied at the network level on your child's SIM. This means adult content is blocked before it reaches the device — it's not software that can be uninstalled or bypassed from the phone. If you ever want to review the filter settings, our UK support team can help.
Can I order multiple SIMs for a family?▾
Absolutely. Each SIM is ordered and activated separately, but you can manage them all from the same account at my.helloiq.uk. Order as many as you need — there are no multi-SIM fees and each plan can be different.
Do I need a smartphone to use a children's SIM?▾
Not at all. Our SIMs work in any phone — including simple candy-bar handsets like the Emporia range. If you want your child to have a phone purely for emergencies and staying in touch, a basic handset with our £7 Calls & Texts plan is all you need.
What happens when the 3GB data runs out?▾
Data is simply paused for the rest of the month — there are no overage charges. Your child won't be hit with unexpected bills. If they regularly run low, you can upgrade their plan at any time via my.helloiq.uk.
Is there a minimum contract?▾
No. Every plan is rolling monthly. If circumstances change — a new school year, a lost phone, or simply deciding your child isn't ready for a mobile yet — you can cancel any time with no exit fees.
Which network does IQ Mobile use?▾
All IQ Mobile SIMs run on the EE network — the UK's number one network for coverage and reliability, with 99% population coverage. You can check your home and school postcode at our coverage checker.
Can my child keep their number if we switch?▾
Yes. Text "PAC" to 65075 from their existing SIM. You'll receive a porting code instantly. Enter it when you activate the new IQ Mobile SIM and the number transfers within one working day.
What is the Emporia emergency button?▾
