IQ Mobile Launches New Website — Simpler, Faster, and Built for Real People

<h2>Why we made the move</h2>
<p>For the past few years, IQ Mobile has run on Shopify — a solid general-purpose platform that served us well during our early growth. But as our range expanded and our customers told us what really mattered to them, it became clear that we needed something designed specifically for the way we work and the people we serve.</p>
<p>Today, we are proud to launch our new website at helloiq.uk.</p>
<h2>Why we moved away from Shopify</h2>
<p>Shopify is built for general e-commerce. It handles thousands of product types and works well for businesses selling clothing or homewares. But selling mobile SIMs, data plans, and senior-friendly phones is a different kind of business.</p>
<p>Our customers need to check coverage before they commit. They need to understand the difference between an eSIM and a physical SIM, or know whether IQ Go works in a router or MiFi device. They need honest pricing without hidden fees, and they need to be able to reach a real person if something goes wrong.</p>
<p>Shopify gave us a shop. Our new site gives us a platform to actually help people.</p>
<h2>What is new</h2>
<p><strong>It is faster.</strong> Built on Next.js with edge caching, pages load significantly quicker — particularly important for older customers or those on slower mobile connections.</p>
<p><strong>It is clearer.</strong> Every product page has been rewritten from scratch with plain-English copy, no jargon, and an honest breakdown of what you get and what it costs.</p>
<p><strong>IQ Go account management is built in.</strong> Existing IQ Go customers can jump straight to their account to check their data balance or buy a top-up, without having to hunt around for the right link.</p>
<p><strong>The SIM quiz actually works.</strong> Answer three quick questions and we will point you to exactly the right product for your situation — no browsing required.</p>
<p><strong>It is more accessible.</strong> We have built in a text size control for customers who prefer larger text, and every page has been reviewed for contrast and readability. Our phones-for-seniors audience deserves a website that meets them where they are.</p>
<p><strong>Coverage checking is on the homepage.</strong> Enter your postcode and see exactly what signal you can expect at home or at work on the EE network we use.</p>
<h2>A note on Shopify</h2>
<p>We are proud of what we built on Shopify and grateful for the 2,500 customers who came with us on that journey. That platform helped us find our feet and build the foundation of what IQ Mobile is today.</p>
<p>But this new site better reflects who we are — a small, UK-based team in Bath that genuinely cares about making mobile simple, fair, and human. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed building it.</p>
